A historic building, The Madison Hotel is now classically modern in its appearance. Photographs of the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial at night, the famous cherry trees around the Tidal Basin, the Lincoln Memorial, a close-up of the columns of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and U.S. Capital Dome at night, and a Metro station tunnel are located throughout the hotel and in guestrooms.
The Postscript bar, with its collection of scotches and bourbons, is set off the lobby in an oversized alcove that has the feel of a cozy library. Palette, D.C.’s first restaurant-as-gallery, serves three meals daily with inventive twists on contemporary American fare. Cotton candy is delivered with the check. Complimentary refreshments are served each evening in the lobby.
